Module One begins by introducing you to new habits that will help you regain confidence around mixing color. You’ll begin to explore my unique and truly comprehensive color wheel to learn the fundamentals of the colors, as well as how they partner with and relate to each other. You’ll also learn how to mix colors so that you can prevent making the infamous mud.

To do so, we’ll use the following tools:

• My One-Of-A-Kind Color Wheel, plus a template to fill in on your own, so that you can see the colors under the colors

At the end of Module One, you’ll have a fresh sense of control and confidence around mixing color and will have laid the foundation to create beautiful color combinations of your own.

Module Two dives into the warm and cool colors, and the energy that aligns with each. You’ll learn how to feel the warmth of sunlight and the coolness of shadow through colors in a painting.

By module two your confidence will begin to raise

At the end of Module Two, you’ll understand how to form harmonious relationships between colors and create a wide range of colors from just a few tubes of paint!

Module Three is all about color value — and how to enhance colors in your paintings that add the warmth and depth that will bring your paintings to life. Using the value scale, you’ll learn how to think about colors in terms of lighter/darker and warmer/cooler, translate color to value, represent colors in sunlight and shadow, and mix colors that are vivid and alive. You’ll also understand how to mix black as well as see how you can shift hue without changing value.

At the end of Module Three, you’ll be able to make more convincing paintings that contain sunlight and shadow, as well as light and dark areas that are alive with color.

Module Four focuses on neutrals and why you want to add them into your painting’. You’ll explore how to work with neutrals to enhance your work more easily than ever before.

To do this, we’ll use the following tool:

• Color Charts, which you can use to generate mood in any work of art
  
• Shadow Template

By the end of Module Four, you’ll understand how to create a more sophisticated color palette when working with a painting and what one secret helps you do this most effectively.

Module Five allows you the time and space to practice. Using a scene or design of your choice, you’ll create some small studies and in the process learn or reinforce how to use color-family circles to select a color scheme easily and how to create and tweak the message and mood of the painting. Each study will help you develop stronger habits and engage both your left and right brain together to create more cohesive works of art.

At the end of Module Five, you’ll understand how to create more impactful art by building a color scheme based on emotion, fewer colors and values.

In our final module, you’ll synthesize your learning together to create a painting that includes all you have learned thus far. Using a color study from Module Five, you’ll complete a larger work that will reinforce the fundamentals you’ve learned so far — and create, mix, and fix color with confidence and control.
